On Thursday, November 28, 2013 the oldest Thanksgiving Day parade in the nation celebrates its 94th anniversary! The parade broadcast begins at 8:30 a.m. and ends at approximately 12 noon. The always-anticipated 6abc Dunkin Donuts Thanksgiving Day parade features festive floats and gigantic balloons as well as local performers from choirs, dance groups, marching bands and more. This year’s parade features tons of special guest appearances from talented actors and musicians as well as Philadelphia’s own Ryan Howard of the Philadelphia Phillies. Of course no Thanksgiving Day parade would be complete without a special appearance from Old Saint Nick on his sleigh.
Special balloons you won’t want to miss include: Cookie Monster, Scooby Doo, Elmo, Hungry Caterpillar, The Lorax, Frosty the Snowman and T-Rex. Some of this year’s floats include Disney Magic Kingdom, a Thanksgiving Harvest-themed float, and a musical-themed float.
